Catholic Education Week

SJE Catholic Education Week (1)

Each year, the “Catholic community of Ontario engages in a week-long celebration of the unique identity and distinctive contributions of Catholic education during Catholic Education Week”.  This year, Catholic Education Week will be celebrated from May 2 – 7. This years’ theme, Nurturing Hope, is a very timely focus for our prayers and activities in the midst of these continued pandemic times, times when many of us may be feeling discouraged and in need of some extra hope. Pope Francis said, “In these dark months of the pandemic, let us listen to the risen Lord as he invites us to begin anew and never lose hope.”

Each day, our Catholic school communities will reflect on one subtheme:

Day 1: Preparing the Earth

Day 2: Sowing Seeds of Gratitude

Day 3: Cultivating Relationships

Day 4: Harvesting New Fruit

Day 5: Marvelling in Wonder

At St. Jerome, we are so very proud to celebrate Catholic Education Week through prayer and special activities throughout the week that we hope will help to nurture hope in our greater learning community.  Please find attached a highlight of the themes and activities we will be celebrating as a school community, and be sure to make note of some recommendations of supplemental activities that can take place at home.

We thank you for your continued support and commitment to Catholic Education, as we attempt to nurture hope in our students and in one another.
