St. Jerome Canada Soccer Tournament

The Student Council has organized the first-ever St. Jerome Canada Soccer Tournament for our school on Wednesday, May 22nd.  The primary grades will practice soccer skills/drills run by our student leaders and the junior to intermediates will play a game of soccer.  The games will take place on the soccer field to give the students a full experience of playing together.  Each class will represent a province/territory of Canada.  This is a great way for students to learn more about Canada and cheer for their Province/Territory. Students are asked to wear red/white and bring any Canada “cheer gear” to celebrate this event.  After the drill or game, students will gather in the courtyard and be given a free bag of popcorn, stickers, and a chance to drink their water (they will need to bring their reusable water bottles).  At this rest station, they will listen to music, have their snack, and return to class. (If you do not wish for your child to have popcorn please inform your child’s teacher before this event). Student Council representatives will be visiting classes on Tuesday to deliver a paper cut out of the province/territory that the class will decorate and sign their names. Student Council representatives will also share some fun facts about their province/territory and answer any questions students may have.  The paper cutouts will then be collected and displayed to form a map of Canada for us to admire. For parents/guardians to reinforce this at home, below is a list of the classes and the province/territory they will be representing.
