We Are Lucky To Be Students At St. Jerome

As we march into March, our newly formed Student Council has planned its own “Spirit Week”.  Since most of the years, St. Patrick’s day falls within our March Break, students usually miss celebrating it at school.  They would like to have a St Patrick’s Day-inspired spirit week from Monday, March 6th to Friday, March 10th.  They have called it, “We Are Lucky To Be Students At St. Jerome.” The students have planned the following:

Monday-Classroom Door decorating contest.  The challenge is to use the words of our theme in a creative way to decorate their classroom door.  Judging will take place on Friday with the winning class sharing a “Lucky Charms” cereal-eating experience.

Tuesday-Wear green or dress up like a leprechaun because we are dancing in the gym.  Our very own “Flynn Sisters” (Stella & Scarlett) will perform their Irish dance routine and lead us all in a few Irish dancing steps for us to learn.  We will then have an opportunity to have our own dance party. Thank you to the “Flynn Sisters” for sharing their remarkable talent with us.

Wednesday-Lucky Bingo.  Members of the Student Council will travel with their bingo cart full of prizes to each of the classrooms to play bingo.  Wishing our students unicorn luck!

Thursday-Shamrock Shenanigans. Student Council will set up stations outside with games and activities for students to participate in during lunch!  A great way to spend recess!

Friday-Wear your lucky charm day or wear a bow or a favourite hat.  Is it a lucky pair of socks or a t-shirt?  A stuffed animal or a team jersey?  Whatever the lucky charm is this is the day to make it shine!  This will also be the day when our door-decorating winners will be announced.

We are proud of the the difference Student Council has already made in our school.  We are looking forward to next week!

“In thanks for the fullness of days spent together, the friends that we pray, will be with us forever, the feelings we’ve shared, the food and good fun, with faith that God’s blessings have only begun.” An Irish Blessing.
