At St. Jerome we are so proud of our teachers that we want to celebrate them every day! On October 5th, World Teachers’ Day, we want to honour our teachers and the teaching profession for their dedication and commitment to education, especially during this unprecedented and most challenging year.
“In 2020, World Teachers’ Day will celebrate teachers with the theme Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future. The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide…In this crisis, teachers have shown, as they have done so often, great leadership and innovation in ensuring that #LearningNeverStops, that no learner is left behind. Around the world, they have worked individually and collectively to find solutions and create new learning environments for their students to allow education to continue.” (en.unesco.org)
Even though a teacher’s job is to teach, they wear many hats. They are counsellors, friends and to some students, they may even be guardian angels. Our hats go off to them as we salute our SJE teachers! Which is why on October 5th, students at SJE will be wearing their funky hats to let teachers know that although they wear many hats we appreciate each and every one of them very much!
